Step-by-Step Process

Prepare Your Space and Materials
Lay down a plastic sheet or newspaper to protect your work surface. Make sure everything you need is within reach — once the resin is mixed, you’ll need to work fairly quickly.

Mix the Resin and Hardener
Measure equal parts of resin and hardener (usually 1:1) into a mixing cup. Stir slowly for about two to three minutes, scraping the sides and bottom. A thorough mix ensures the resin will cure properly.

Add Colour or Decoration
Pour portions of the mixed resin into smaller cups if you want multiple colours. Add pigments, inks, or glitter to each one and stir gently. You can also prepare some clear resin to balance the colours.

Pour into the Moulds
Slowly pour the resin into the silicone moulds. You can layer different colours or swirl them together with a stick or skewer for interesting effects.

Remove Air Bubbles
Pass a heat gun or lighter briefly over the surface to pop any bubbles that appear. Avoid overheating the resin or staying in one spot too long, as this can damage the mould.

Let It Cure
Leave the coasters to cure in a dust-free area for 24–48 hours, depending on your resin brand.

Finishing Touches
Once hardened, gently remove the coasters from the moulds. You can sand the edges with fine sandpaper if needed.
